Siberia

To the east of the Ural Mountains lies Siberia.  Where on earth is that?  Where's the Ural Mountains?  It looks like it is right below the Arctic Circle.
You know what ? This is kind of random and fun....who said we can't travel everyday!!
Looks like they have reindeer there!  Pretty neat.
Looks real cold.

This is where it is.  I didn't know.

The snow is beautiful but probably really cold there of course.

Siberia is a vast Russian province encompassing most of Northern Asia, with terrain spanning tundra, coniferous forest, and mountain ranges including Ural, Altai and Verkhoyansk.  Lake Baikal, in its south, is the world's deepest lake, circled by a network of hiking paths called the Greak Baikal Trail.  The Trans-Siberian Railway passes baikal on its routes between Moscow and the sea of japan.  I have no idea where the sea of Japan is.  Hmm interesting.

Siberian wildlife:  Reindeer, bears, squirrels, and the region is the home to the largest tiger in the world, the Siberian tiger, which has thick fur to withstand the bitter winters.

Siberia is largely uninhabited.  It stretches across to the Pacific Ocean

In the north, the forest thins out as the climate gets colder and the land becomes a barren waste called tundra where the ground remains frozen throughout the year.

These tigers are endangered.   About 450 tigers left.

White Siberian Tiger ...He's a beauty.

Lake Baikal in winter. Largest lake in Siberia: 12,150 square miles.  500 miles across.  Deepest lake in the world.  Greater than 1/2 of Lake Baikal's 3000 species are found no where else on the planet?  wow! (google knows a lot!)
